National Rehabilitation Conference 2013: A brief review by Aamir Rauf Memon

National Rehabilitation Conference-II was held at Isra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences on 4th & 5th October 2013. First day of the NRC-II comprised of Workshops sessions in which participants were told about the hand-on skills and techniques. Whereas, the second day of the session consisted of versatile activities, including conference, paper presentation, & poster making competition.
The sequel of NRC-I went very fine and there were so many things to appreciate. Invited speakers from all over the country presented various topics before the audience including major specialities such as Orthopedic, Musculoskeletal, Pediatric, Neurological, & Geriatric Physiotherapy. Nevertheless, various topics pertaining to Orthotics & Prosthetics, Speech-Language-Pathology, Occupational Therapy and related health-care professions were presented.
There were representative participants from all over the country. The institutional representatives included those from Isra Institute of Rehabilitation Islamabad, Riphah College of Rehabilation Sciences Islamabad, Rawalpindi Medical College, Shifa Tamir-e-Milat University Islamabad, Margalla College of Physiotherapy Islamabad, National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine Islamabad, University of Faisalabad, GC University Faisalabad, Sargodha Medical College, Institute of Physiotherapy Bahawalpur, Khyber Medical University Peshawar, Mehboob College of Physiotherapy Peshawar & Agha Khan University Karachi.
The event was presided by Vice-Chancellor of Preston University Education System who was very delighted to see such an event organized by a physiotherapy institution. To him, such activities are really necessary to inculcate the students with the knowledge and skills and updates about the development of the profession, in general.
