Giving back

Written By Unknown on Thursday | 08:04

Just found this interview call letter in my cupboard, I can remember how happy I was when I received this letter, celebrations everywhere that I got admission in one of the top Physical Therapy Schools in Pakistan,to be accurate, the number one School in Punjab. Now the situation is quite different, there are no jobs and every year new schools offering DPT are opening up. By 2014 we'll have about 1200 graduates only in Lahore, talking about Punjab,we'll have about 3000 fresh graduates and virtually no jobs. The competency of those graduates can be imagined from the fact that people with 50% marks in Fsc can get admission in DPT programs and yes, relative GPA system allows them to get very good grades. So, who is responsible for degrading the profession? That is the mystery question but this question is not important, what's important is that there are no jobs and providing the ''sifarish'' culture, the situation in 2014 would be exactly like it was for MBA students few years ago. PPTA and senior PTs should do something about these substandard schools offering DPT degrees to anyone with money and causing irreversible damage to the entire field. Its time to give back something to the field.

  1. Its is an extremely Pathetic Situation we all are passing through. The people we call legends here in Pakistan should come up to shoulder this befallen wall of profession.... It is the need of hour that some regulatory authority like Pakistan Physical Therapy Council be made as soon as possible. that is the only solution to such problems.
