Student Focus convened a motivational seminar titled “How to
make your profession your passion” on Thursday, 4th July, 2013 in
morning at School of Physiotherapy, KEMU, Mayo Hospital Lahore.
Mr. Qasim Ali Shah was the main speaker. He is engineer by
profession and owns hotelling business. He is a famous writer, orator and a trainer.
He has delivered many lectures on the topics of social, moral and personal development.
He has conducted many training sessions for age groups varying from student to
professional level. Dr. Ummoul Bunin
(DPT), the Head of Department of Physiotherapy at Lahore General Hospital was
the Chief Guest on the occasion. Worthy faculty of School of Physiotherapy, KEMU,
Mayo Hospital Lahore was also present in the seminar. Among special mentions
are Dr. Junaid Ejaz Gondal (Conultant Physiotherapist), Dr. Irfan Dar
(PT-Incharge Male Ward Physiotherapy Department), Dr. Zubaida (PT), Dr. Zakira
(PT), Dr. Tanveer (PT), Dr. Saeed (PT).

Seminar began with the recitation of Holy Quran offered by Mr.
Abdul Khaliq (DPT 1st year KEMU). Miss Aksa (DPT 1st year
KEMU) presented a beautiful Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool. Then Mr. M. Osama (DPT 1st
year KEMU) presented National Anthem on Electric Guitar, the audience honored
the anthem with standing ovation. Miss Safa Moeed (DPT 4th year
KEMU) and Miss Gul-e-Raana Khan (DPT 4th year KEMU) hosted the
event. There after Mr. Qasim Ali Shah took over the stage with his solemn and
steady voice and delivered an inspiring presentation of the aforementioned
topic.
He said “The principle of success is to recognize self and
purpose of life”. He added “Lock the past to move ahead”. According to him “Dreams
make an individual a traveler without it he is just a wanderer”. He exemplified
several influential personalities of the world. He referred that the roots of
success are deeply rooted in ages of 15-25 years. He said that “complex of
poverty” is the reason of failure. He cursed the word “Kaash” or “Alas” because
it is the first step towards hopelessness which ultimately leads to the
failure.
After the lecture Question and Answer session was conducted.
Both the students, guests and faculty actively participated in the session. Afterwards
a special video on the Student Focus progress so far “a journey of future” was
run. Whole audience appreciated the lecture and video and expressed their
gratitude to be a part of such motivational happening. The compliments and
suggestions collected from audience included that such events are important for
the personal development and grooming so events like this must commence regularly.
In the end, Mr. Muhammad Sheraz , Editor In-Chief of Student Focus thanked the
speaker, guests, faculty and students for their presence and appreciation.
Finally the Chief Guest Dr. Ummoul Bunin presented a bouquet as a vote of
thanks to Mr. Qasim Ali Shah.
Then refreshment was served in the library room to the
faculty and guests.
